Side Effects

Have you ever been prescribed drugs and proceed to very carelessly take them without reading the side effects? You then reach some point of boredom and decide to read the box of pills only to find some rather extreme side effects written in fine print.

I have just returned from two back to back conferences and its taken me a couple of days to soak everything in. There has been incredible speakers, so much wisdom and leadership poured into my life. I feel as though my brain has been submerged into deeper waters and has come out changed. What I really want to share though is that idea of side effects.

Being in over 10 worship sessions with the body of Christ over the past ten days has left some unexpected side effects. The Word is so rich in revelation, each song I put on makes my spirit soar. More than anything I am so very aware of the presence of God in and around me. David says it like this

How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!

I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand!

And when I wake up, you are still with me!

In every moment, on every occasion worship him. Be it to music, in a conversation or acknowledging him in the room. He promised to never leave us nor forsake us and so any other experience is just a feeling. There is so much to discover about the presence of God. I have walked away from being in His presence with an unshakeable belief that he is always near.
